Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy

An average of 170,000 books are published in one year… and out of those 170,000 books, you want the world to read yours.

The Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy was an inspiration following Westercon 58 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Tee Morris (a/k/a The Sarge) had just completed podcasting MOREVI (the first novel to be podcast from cover to cover) and was now launching Legacy of Morevi. At both the Dragon Moon Press book launch and the panels on self-promotion for writers, Tee discovered that while there were podcasts about the art of writing, none covered the business of writing. On October 31, 2005, The Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy launched.

This podcast goes into the nuts and bolts of what to do after you finish your work, before the finished complimentary copies come from your publisher. The topics covered deal with something as simple as a business card to putting together a press kit for your book and yourself. To be a success in writing takes more than just talent and opportunity, but it also takes a sense of business and a rooted perspective on what is happening in the publishing industry.

Welcome to Boot Camp, soldier. Time to face the obstacle course of a writing career.
