Award-winning Humorist Strikes a Chord with Fans

Clearfield, Utah – Awarding-winning author and humorist Kevin Cummings’ new book “Happily Domesticated” is based on writing that has his fans saying, “It’s like he’s watching my life.”

Since 2006 Kevin has produced a weekly internet audio program to share his uniquely funny worldview. With more than a half million downloads and an international fan base, the program has struck a chord with fans and found a devoted following. “Kevin has a way of talking about things that makes me wonder if he follows me around to get ideas,” says fan Rick Rebus in an iTunes review of Kevin’s show.

Podcaster and author Mignon Fogarty (a.k.a.Grammar Girl) echoes this when she says, “Kevin’s smartly written essays expose the truths that make life funny. They always make me smile.” After twenty-four years of marriage, a man learns a few things aboutsurviving as a homeowner, husband and father. For award-winning humorist Kevin Cummings the lesson was to laugh at adversity. “Being a family man isn’t a job for wimps,” he says. “If you’re going to keep your perspective – and your sanity – it helps to have a sense of humor.”

Kevin’s new book – “Happily Domesticated” – is a compilation of theessays he wrote for the show along with a dozen new essays he included as a treat for his fans. The book covers topics ranging from marriage and fatherhood to home ownership and appliance repairs to business and technology. Each story invites readers into Kevin’s hilariously off-center world. In an entry on home repairs, Kevin notes, “I follow a simple rule for safe living; I never enter a home where I have performed any maintenance work on the plumbing or electrical systems.”

The world of commerce isn’t safe from Kevin’s barbs. Talking about a trip to the mall, he mentions that “some of the kids manning the kiosks have so many tattoos and piercings that they appear to be refugees from the lost tribe of careless nail-gun owners.” Even the U.S. Government gets his scrutiny when says, “In terms of sheer tonnage, the Untied States is the world’s leading producer of weapons-grade bureaucracy.”

Observations like these earned Kevin the prestigious Parsec award for Best Comedy/Parody podcast of 2008 and have kept his audience coming back week-after-week for another dose of his humor. His new book “Happily Domesticated” will satisfy his current fan and expose a whole new audience to his work.

“Happily Domesticated” is available through Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com in a paperback for $8.99 and a Kindle electronic edition for $4.99.
